Bright front doors or coloured window frames are nothing new, but colour technology has come a long way since the limited range of shades traditionally used.

White frames are timeless and will never go out of style. Many might think white is obvious, but it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. It is the most popular choice by far, and if you want your home to look classic and timeless, then white will do just that.
Most homeowners choose white because it directly replaces existing windows and doors.
White is typically the default colour for windows and doors. This is because it blends in with all other colours, but some feel white can also make your home feel sterile and lack personality. If you’re looking for something different, try opting for cream or ivory. It can make your home more inviting and is popular with traditional and heritage homes giving a soft yet clean finish.
They say grey is the new black and with so many grey shades available, choosing a shade for your doors and windows can be tricky. If you’re looking for something elegant to go with traditional windows, choose an Agate Grey colour, or if you want a modern feel, consider Anthracite Grey frames which give off a sleek style.
No matter which shade of grey you pick, you can’t go wrong with grey!
Woodgrain uPVC windows and doors are used instead of installing traditional timber. Unlike modern uPVC window and door frames, which are usually finished in one smooth colour, woodgrain finishes have a beautiful wood effect finish using a high-quality foil coating which doesn’t rot, warp or split. They can be tailored in several authentic wood effects, such as Rosewood, Irish Oak, and Mahogany.
Not only do they have a traditional appearance, but woodgrain effect windows and doors have a stunning timber texture to them, giving you the best of both a heritage look with modern materials.
The popular green hues of Chartwell Green or Sage Green provide an elegant look to any home. If you’re considering updating your windows with this beautiful shade, we think it’s a fantastic decision! It is a traditional, country-style colour that has been popular for many years. It goes well with many styles of properties and gives a country elegance to homes.
For homeowners who enjoy a modern and minimalistic style, black doors and windows can elevate the front of your home without making it feel too busy. It is the perfect colour to combine with any hardware colour, giving a dramatic home statement. The best thing about black is that it suits any window or door and is set to grow in popularity.
We went to one of the top uPVC suppliers, Deceuninck, to find out which colours are ranking the most popular with homeowners, and here are our findings.
White was the most popular, with 43% of homeowners choosing white as their go-to choice for windows and doors.
Next was all the shades of grey, including Anthracite Grey, Agate Grey, and Slate Grey, accounting for 17% of the customer poll.
Woodgrain finishes ranked third with Irish Oak and Rosewood ranking at 7% and 6% individually with greens, including Chartwell and Sage Green came in at a recorded 4% and 1%. As Black and Cream each recorded 4%.
When we investigated the high choice of 43% of homeowners would choose standard white windows and doors, many said they were defaulting to what they currently had in their homes. When asked to list their first choice plus other colours that they would consider, grey finishes which closed the gap on white.
