When Salford University finalised their plans for the exterior refurbishment of the Peel Building, Droylsden Glass were recommended to install the new roof lights.
A major structural refurbishment such as the one recently undertaken by The University of Salford on their Peel Building involves a great deal of planning as well as contributions by a number of specialists including architects, engineers and technical materials specifiers.
The main contractor for this prestigious restoration project was Bullen Conservation Ltd and the roof system selected was supplied by Lonsdale Metal Company, but the specifiers who were responsible for materials and methods, strongly recommended that Droylsden Glass should be invited to tender for the aluminium roof light.
This commendation came as a direct result of experience on previous contracts in which Droylsden Glass had greatly impressed by the efficiency and quality of their workmanship and service.
The Droylsden Glass tender was submitted and accepted and the company duly installed the new energy efficient roof as scheduled and within the agreed working programme.
