Glazed extension for airy garden views
Mr and Mrs Pownall wanted to add some extra living space to their home, but this new space needed to be filled with lots of natural light. So, after speaking to them both about their plans, they immediately decided to get in touch with us to carry out the work. We created an amazing living space that is light and airy, giving them beautiful garden views.

Anthracite Grey aluminium conservatory in Stockport
With the brief in mind, we installed a Eurocell Aluminium Conservatory roof with Smartglass Blue glass units to the roof for thermal control, giving a comfortable space that can be used all year round. Due to the projection of the glass units being at the maximum length of 4000mm, we used Bolster bars to provide additional support to the glazing bars.
Our homeowners wanted a modern and contemporary look and opted for Anthracite Grey finish with Smart Visofold 1000 6 pane bi-folding doors and Deceuninck 2800 casement windows. The Anthracite grey conservatory windows are A-rated units with clear low E, low iron glazing, filled with argon gas and a black swiss spacer for optimal energy efficiency and finished in a smooth matt grey to stay in keeping with the chosen style.
Due to the span of the glazed roof and the structural calculations, we needed to install a structural steel to provide proper support, so there was no deflection of weight transfer onto the bi-folding doors. Doing this gave a structurally sound conservatory that will stand the test of time and pass all building regulation requirements.
