Developing local youth through sponsorship

Here at Droylsden Glass, we’ve agreed to sponsor local school St Stephens CofE Primary School in order to purchase some bikes, which will be used to allow school children to take part in supported learning sessions with Ross Keeble Outdoors, a local provider of cycling lessons.

There are various studies supporting the idea that the hand-eye coordination skills learned through cycling help to develop cognitive function in children, helping them to become better learners. Of course, cycling is also a great form of exercise, which stimulates brain function whilst keeping kids fit and healthy too.

So far, the feedback from this scheme has been excellent. Helen Hickson, EYFS Manager at St John’s Primary School had this to say: “The children learn so much from the sessions and I am convinced our work with the bikes has played a huge role in the increase in the number of our children achieving the Physical and Writing Early Learning Goals”.

We’re absolutely delighted to be playing our part in such an exciting scheme and hope that our sponsorship goes some way to helping local children develop into stronger, healthier learners.

Springhead AFC sponsorship deal with Droylsden Glass

Droylsden Glass is conscious of supporting our local community and worthy causes by helping sports teams, charitable events, and social organisations in the Northwest. We believe that giving something back to the local community is incredibly important and something more businesses should do. So, we have made it our mission to become more involved in charitable causes for Greater Manchester and beyond!

Our new sponsorship of a local football team, Springhead AFC, is celebrating their love of football and their 100 years of team spirit. The club started in 1922, and their passion for the sport is just as fervent today as it was then; with an ever-growing list of players, managers, sponsors, and committee members, the team is top-rated in the local area. The club is steeped in local history and a fantastic resource for bringing the local community together.

We choose to help others to show our corporate social responsibility and support all aspects of our local society, including economic, social, and environmental issues.

The Magic of Mission Christmas: How Droylsden Glass Made a Difference

In December 2022, we were honoured to support Cash for Kids’ ‘Mission Christmas’ as a drop-off partner.

We were proud to come together with our local community and collect amazing gifts for children across Greater Manchester. We were overwhelmed with the generosity of the many people who dropped off gifts at our showroom, allowing us to make a real difference in the lives of 32,754 children. We’d like to thank everyone who contributed to this fantastic cause, as your support has made a world of difference in the lives of these children.

Tameside 4 Good and our charity work

We believe that giving something back to the local community is incredibly important and something that more businesses should do. So, we’ve made it our mission to become more involved in charitable causes around Tameside.

We have an ongoing pledge of support to Tameside 4 Good, a charity that provides grants to a variety of local causes, and regularly undertake fundraising events for them, which have included a fire walk and a skydive.

A valuable work provider to the Greater Manchester area

Not only do we employ a variety of people who are from the Greater Manchester area, providing valuable local employment, but we also strive to develop the skills of these local people where we can.

We enrolled the whole of our Surveying and Supervisory team in an in-depth training programme where they were able to attain NVQ qualifications up to level 3 along with the relevant CSCS card authorisation. In addition to developing their skills, this enables us to offer a higher standard of service to our customers, which is also something that we place huge importance on.
