Case Study: SIP build orangery in Droylsden

New build SIP orangery extension

After discussing their options with the Droylsden Glass experts, Mr. and Mrs. Lawton decided to go for a SIP build orangery to extend their home. The SIP extension comprised of Peak Madeira Brick Slips, Deceuninck casement windows and matching French doors. In terms of performance, the products included a range of features and achieved the following ratings:

• Deceuninck 2500 casement window system – WER A+10
• Avantis ‘Superior’ locking mechanism – Kubu Ready, SBD glass locks & hinge guards
• French doors including Avantis SBD multipoint door lock with largest opposing chamfered security hooks and twinfix cylinder guard

• Ecopane ‘A’ rated double glazed units (low E / low iron) WER energy rating of A+ 10

We also ensured that all elements of the project complied with current building regulations requirements and made SAP calculations to assist with the build.

Skypod roof lantern with blue self-cleaning glazing

To complete the project, we installed a Skypod roof lantern to the top of the extension. Skypod roof lanterns are industry renowned for their superior performance and attractive appearance. Fitted with blue tinted self-cleaning glass, the Skypod roof lantern helps to maximise natural light intake into the extension while reducing maintenance requirements thanks to its self-cleaning technology.
