“Droylsden Glass took care of all the red tape on our behalf. We were very pleased with their whole service.” Mrs Beverley McGowan, Head teacher
As Mrs McGowan says, “We’re teachers, not builders, so when it comes to commissioning new windows and suchlike for the school, we’re stepping well outside our comfort zone.”
What the school particularly liked about Droylsden Glass was that not only were their prices extremely competitive, but they were willing to spend plenty of time with them to discuss ideas as well as providing lots of good advice so that they could make informed choices.
The other benefit was that because they had worked within so many local schools in the past Droylsden Glass were very au-fait with all the legal and other official requirements regarding educational establishments. The company took on all those responsibilities, such as liaising with the authorities and providing all the necessary documentation, so that everything was approved first time without complications.
As regards the windows, Droylsden Glass removed a long length of old timber windows and replaced them with modern PVCu frames and aluminium curtain walling for added strength and minimal maintenance. The school also chose anti-sun double glazed units to improve classroom comfort.
As part of the project Droylsden Glass also installed new aluminium fire escape doors complete with child-friendly anti-finger trap door stiles and panic bar releases.
All in all the school was more than impressed with the Droylsden Glass service, especially the fact that the job was completed as scheduled during school holidays and that on their return everything was left clean and tidy with no disruption for the children or staff.
